KRISTINE:
Kristine is an independent woman who has been through allot in the past as she married a man she didn't love for money as she needed to help her mother and brothers, and alongside doing this she hurt the person she was in love with, as she left the person she really loved. which was Krogstad. Just as Helmer and Krogstad are set up as comparative characters, so are Mrs Linde and Nora as they end up being in each other psoitons. Mrs Linde enters the play with no prospects. She is poor and unemployed. After rejecting Krogstad she was aiming to support her mother and young brothers. Her family have now all left her and she is exhausted and alone. In the opening scene Nora can hardly stop herself from bragging about all that she has: the happiness of her marriage, her healthy financial position and her three lovely children. By the end of the play these positions have all but reversed: Mrs Linde is in love and soon to be married to a man of means while Nora is alone and unemployed. Mrs Linde is a force of truth in Nora’s life, encouraging her to speak to Helmer about the debt, time and time again. Mrs Linde is, perhaps, able to be so courageous about the truth because she has nothing to lose. Again, this suggests that the wealth and position of Nora and Helmer are prohibitive to an honest relationship.CHARACTER PROFILE: BEFORE
I'm currently witting this while siting on the steam train. My destination is known but for what it will bring I have no idea. I'm on my way to visit my friend Nora Helmer who is an old friend of mine and I haven't seen her or the neighborhood for years. Nora never really travels or gets out and so I will have so much to tell her about today and especially that I'm on the steamer. I've also heard that Nora's husband Torvald Helmer has a new bank position and therefore has a job available and I was wondering and hoping if I have an opportunity.
Alongside this I really am looking for work as I've been working my whole life and will not be able to survive without a job, it would also be lovely if I could have someone to look after and care for, I miss that and regret what I did because when I look at the position that I'm in now, I feel shipwrecked.
CHARACTER PROFILE: AFTER
I'm so glad that Nora is living with me at the moment as she is now really free and i think she is really finding herself and understanding that she is able to live without Torvald even though he cant bear to think about life without her. I'm also very happy with Krogstad and we have made many plans and been able to speak about allot, this has rekindled our relationship and made me remember and realize how much i loved and missed him. I hope i can live a happy life and possibly begin to build a family.

MOTHERHOOD/MARRIAGE
Taken from 'the Role of the Wife and Mother' by Kate Chopin. This really portrays the aspect of motherhood as the mother is kissing the child's forehead, however there is no direct gaze and the focus is towards the child and the expectations that are expected from your husband/ society in order for you to be a mother, |
This picture shows a woman being supportive of her husband and this really signifies the aspect of marriage in a dolls house as Nora has to live up to a high expectation of being a wife |

- She runs off to be Krogstad's little homemaker and is happy about it.
In order to understand my partners character I have also looked at the way in which Krogstad changes so i am able to work with what his character is like in our specific scene.
The transitions are as follows:
